Two of Hearts
Ruth and Graham Horne have had long careers in music, including performing as Two of Hearts and Two Step. Ruth plays saxophone, Graham is vocalist, and guitar player. Graham creates all the backing tracks.

We met over twenty years ago when we were both music teachers - Ruth teaching sax and clarinet, and Graham teaching piano. After we got married in 1996, we devised a way of becoming a duo with our unlikely combination of instruments! In fact we played at our own wedding! Over the years we have had a great lifestyle, playing throughout the North Island and even two New Years Eve gigs in the Marlborough Sounds. We've had many adventures touring, and now we can look back on many highlights. Playing on the Good Morning Show on TV1, opening for the Drifters in Taupo, meeting John Helliwell, sax player of Supertramp, and maybe best of all playing together in a 12 piece band with Howie Casey - Paul McCarney's go-to tenor sax player, for a series of Wings and Beatles tribute concerts.

Like all NZ bands, we've had to develop a wide and extensive repertoire to cater for all types of audiences. This a good thing for a musician, and leads us to grow into new areas all the time. This is our first appearance at the Hamilton Jazz Society, and one we are looking forward to very much.

Do join us for a relaxing afternoon of quality music. It is a great way to wind down the weekend.
